The Local Tap House, Nyack NY — Limited Edition Art Print
$90.00
A Great Good Place of Nyack. The Local Tap House is a cozy neighborhood bar on South Franklin Street, where the beer is cold, the whiskey selection is serious, the hot dogs are creative, and nobody seems particularly interested in putting on airs.
The Local opened in 2015 in the former Night Owl/Luna Lounge space and has become one of those wonderfully unpretentious watering holes that gives a town some personality. There’s a rotating lineup of craft beers, a famously deep whiskey selection, music, regulars, and the sort of friendly, slightly loose atmosphere that makes you want to pull up a stool and stay awhile.
I drew The Local along with its neighboring storefronts on South Franklin, because sometimes a good bar is more than a good bar. It’s part of the scenery. It’s part of the neighborhood. It’s where people meet, drink, argue about music, discover a new whiskey, eat a dog, and occasionally wonder why there is a giraffe looking over the roof.
