Prime Meats Brooklyn Print — Limited Edition Tavern Artwork
$90.00
Prime Meats, we miss you. That cozy corner spot in Carroll Gardens at 465 Court Street has long lived rent-free in my memory — and now it lives on in this print.
Prime Meats was a labor of love from Brooklyn restaurateurs Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli (aka “the Franks”), and it felt like stepping into a classic European tavern crossed with a New York bar. Tasting Table+2Time Out Worldwide+2 The ambiance was warm: dark wood, vintage mirrors, low lighting, tin ceilings, and worn-in booths. Condé Nast Traveler+1
This place wasn’t just steak and sausages (though they were amazing) — they made house-cured meats, German-style wursts, spaetzle, and schnitzel Tasting Table+1 — and mixed cocktails like you were back in Prohibition-era Brooklyn.
Sadly, the Franks shuttered Prime Meats in late 2018. Eater NY+2Brooklyn Eagle+2 The tavern room became Franks Wine Bar, but to me, the spirit of Prime Meats never fully left. Eater NY
That’s why I drew it — to capture that scruffy, soulful Brooklyn place that felt like a big hug and a serious steak. This print is my tribute.
